UCF fans had to cancel trip to 'College GameDay' after receiving threats
University of Central Florida fans were prepared to give “College GameDay” a piece of their mind. After the program questioned UCF’s No. 10 rank, some fans decided to organize a bus trip to invade ESPN’s “College GameDay” in Jacksonville.
Those plans were short-lived. Not long after organizing the trip, UCF fans had to cancel after receiving threats online from fans of other schools.
The UCF Knights Watch Twitter account took screenshots of the threats they received for organizing the trip. Some responded to that post with more threats.

Eventually, Chad Barr, the organizer of the event, wrote a post detailing why the trip was cancelled, according to KnightNews.com. In the post, he said UCF fans experienced the “ugly side of college sports.”

According to Barr, older UCF fans and children had signed up for the trip, and it was no longer worth the risk. He also revealed that he looked into hiring security for the day, but that it would have been too costly.
UCF fans have passionately defended their school during the team’s 20-game win streak. Even athletic director Danny White has gotten in on it. He wrote a statement to the “College GameDay” crew urging them to help UCF get a fair shot at the College Football Playoff.
Despite going undefeated last season, UCF was not included in the College Football Playoff. The team is a perfect 7-0 this season.
