While the surge of crime between 1970 and 1990 in the U.S. hasn’t continued on a tormenting trend in recent decades, the rise of gun violence across America has kept the country out of the top 100 safest in the world.
That unwanted metric has added to the violent crime data, with much of the focus on the urban landscapes where murder rates have always been noted in higher occurrences.
