Tyreek Hill compares 2022 Dolphins’ offense to 2019 Chiefs
With all of the moves that the Miami Dolphins have made this offseason, there are starting to be some real expectations for the team that hasn’t made the postseason in five years.
Wide receiver Tyreek Hill, one of the biggest acquisitions for Miami, brings a an impressive resume with him to South Florida. In his career, he’s made the Pro Bowl in each of his six seasons.
Hill has also provided fans with content all offseason, including his podcast, “It Needed to be Said.”
This week, Hill spoke with his new teammate Jaylen Waddle, and the two touched on a number of topics, including their speed. However, Hill was asked about the dynamics of the offense by co-host Julius Collins, and Hill said it’s reminiscent of a team he played on in the past.
“That 2019 offense with the Chiefs was stupid,” Hill said. “When I go out to practice each and every day, like I said, I see the same exact team. I swear. As far explosive, as far as dynamic, we have the same weapons. Maybe even more. Like our running back runs a 4.2 [second 40-yard dash], and that’s crazy. [It’s a] whole track meet back there. And, when you add Mike McDaniel into calling plays, I know Andy Reid is great, but when you add [McDaniel] it’s crazy. The way he dials up plays and his play-calling timing, I don’t even know what to say, it’s just crazy.”
In 2019, the Kansas City Chiefs went 12-4 and won the Super Bowl over the San Francisco 49ers, a staff that had McDaniel on it. They were fourth in total offensive yardage per game (384.3) and second in points per game (29.9).
It would be unfair to expect the Dolphins to make the jump to a Super Bowl-winning team in one offseason, but Hill thinks they have that level of talent, as he continues to talk about him team and his teammates whenever he gets the opportunity to do so.
