Ty Lawson, Arron Afflalo power Nuggets over Grizzlies

Ty Lawson scored 25 points and added 11 assists, his 17th double-double of the season, to lead the Denver Nuggets to a blowout victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, 114-85. The Nuggets took quality shots, finishing 41-79 (51.9%) from the field, including 7-15 (46.7%) from beyond the arc. Denver (14-20) gets one in the win column after losing to Chicago on Thursday.

Lawson finished 10-14 (3-4 from three-point range) in a quality offensive outing. Denver also got solid performances from Wilson Chandler with 15 points and five rebounds, Kenneth Faried with 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Jusuf Nurkic with 11 points and 10 rebounds. On 7-15 shooting from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line, Marc Gasol put up 18 points for Memphis in the loss.

The Nuggets combined an eFG% of 56.3% with 46.7% 3-point shooting. They are undefeated (3-0) this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, are 1-3 when allowing opponents to hit those marks.

Coming up next, the Nuggets battle the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are 5-27 on the year. The Grizzlies match up against the New York Knicks, currently 5-30 this season. The Nuggets have a 1-0 record against Minnesota this season.
