TEAM OF THE WEEK

Cedarburg

The Bulldogs kept themselves alive for at least a share of the North Shore Conference title with a 3-0 mark that included a conference win. A 3-1 victory over Hartford last Tuesday moved Cedarburg into a tie with Whitefish Bay in conference standing points (12). The offensive effort was highlighted by a goal for Mia Thompson and Courtney Van Ermen, as well as an assist each for Kate Vanden Berg and Peyton Wetzel. In an 8-0 win Thursday over Beaver Dam, Nadia Epshteyn and Reese Cummings each tallied two goals while Talan Nobile and Thompson had two assists each. Mia Hurd and Ainsley Katte combined for the three-save shutout in goal, playing one half each. Cedarburg shut out Sauk Prairie, 3-0, as well on Friday, with Hurd leading the effort with 70 minutes in goal and five saves. Katte finished the game with two saves in the final 10 minutes. Wetzel, Epshteyn and Hayden Rogahn each scored a goal, while Van Ermen had two assists and Lacy Johnson added a third. Cedarburg (at Grafton on Tuesday) and Whitefish Bay (at West Bend East/West on Tuesday) each had one scheduled conference game remaining this week to avoid a split title.
