Twitter is thrilled to see the Bears draft Illinois C Doug Kramer
Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles isn’t being shy about creating competition for the interior of the offensive line. The team added their third interior lineman of the day when they selected center Doug Kramer from Illinois with the 207th overall pick.
Kramer joins Braxton Jones and Zachary Thomas as the other picks from Day 3 of the 2022 NFL draft.
Kramer is a local product, growing up in Hinsdale, IL, a western suburb of Chicago. He’s an experienced center who can also play guard as well. Perhaps he’s the team’s future at center if he can develop.
Needless to say with Kramer going to school just a few hours south of Chicago, there are plenty of people happy to see him wind up with the Bears.
The #Bears take their third OL of the day with Illinois center Doug Kramer!
Nice flier on a local guy in Round 7. Not an elite athlete but high football IQ with very good pad level and play strength. Like this pick.

Justin Fields has 3 new OL today and I may like Kramer the most.

New #Bears C Doug Kramer grew up in Hinsdale, Illinois before heading to Champaign to play college ball.
It only makes sense to keep him home.#NFLDraft

#Bears select Illinois C Doug Kramer!
Best C left on the board, and as a C guy, this makes me happy.

I don’t actually have to pretend that I have known and desired OL Doug Kramer (for five years of) all of my life.
Hell yes to snagging a former Illini.

Illinois boy. Doug Kramer, nice. I will accept it. How about a speedy receiver still on the board? Bo Melton?

Doug Kramer is a guy I had my eye on. A nice developmental project at C from Illinois. At 203, that’s good value.

Doug Kramer was a 3x Team Captain for Illinois. He’s a center only, and doesn’t offer position versatility @DraftTap @BarroomNetwork

Doug Kramer is my C9. Good power for his size. Has some athletic tools. Great snapper. Heavy waisted and doesn’t bend well. Sluggish movement in pass protection. #Bears #HallamAnalysis

A guy named Doug Kramer who played center at U of I was destined to become a Chicago Bear.
