Twin Valley girls basketball coach Doug Myer resigns

Jan. 5—Doug Myer has resigned from his position as girls basketball coach at Twin Valley.

The resignation, effective Thursday, was confirmed by Twin Valley athletic director Taylor Parker on Friday.

Parker said Myer resigned due to "personal reasons." Myer declined to comment further.

The Raiders are 3-6 this season and 1-1 in league play. Twin Valley is tied for first place in Division II of the Berks Girls Basketball League.

Deana Gorgone and Matt Hahn will serve as co-head coaches for the Raiders for the remainder of the season, according to Parker.

In two full seasons and one partial season at Twin Valley, Myer posted a 23-35 record. During his first season in 2021-22, he guided the Raiders to a 16-11 record and appearances in the Berks, District 3 Class 5A and PIAA Class 5A playoffs.

Prior to his stint at Twin Valley, Myer coached for 18 seasons at Wilson. His overall record in 21 seasons as a girls basketball coach is 361-202.
