Turning the Page: Norwich Free Academy names new girls lacrosse coach

Eric Page has been named the girls lacrosse head coach at Norwich Free Academy.

Page, who has been the Wildcats assistant coach the past two seasons, led the program from 2002 through the 2017-18 season.

Page, an NFA alumnus, replaces Taylor Shannon, who resigned to take over the girls lacrosse program at Waterford High School.

“This school means a lot to me, and this program means a lot to me,” said Page, who is a special education teacher at NFA.

“Eric is very familiar with our program,” NFA athletic director Roy Wentworth said in a statement. “He had success during his first coaching stint, and now, having served as an assistant for the past two years, he knows our kids and our league. I’m excited for the season.”

Page also has three years of experience as an assistant at the United States Coast Guard Academy. A 1996 graduate of the Academy, Page played while at NFA, serving as captain his senior year.

“We’ve had success in the past, and I know we can be successful in the future,” Page said. “I know our players are willing to work, and I’m ready to work with them to start achieving new levels of success.”
