How to tune into IHSAA State Football Championships

Nov. 6—After a long season of high school football, the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) is ready for the semifinals this week at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls this Wednesday through Saturday.

The Iowa High School Sports Network (IHSSN) will broadcast all 21 of the games played at the UNI-Dome over the next two weeks.

—The Semifinals (Nov. 8-11) will air on the IHSSN Cable Network, including Mediacom (MC22), Aureon affiliates, Premier Communications and The Community Agency (TCA).

—The Championship games (Nov. 16-17) will air on the IHSSN Broadcast Network, including NPTH (Sioux City), NPTM (Council Bluffs — Omaha), KDSM (Des Moines), KFXA (Cedar Rapids), KXLT (Mason City — Rochester) and WQAD (Moline — Quad Cities).

"Check local listings for details," IHSSN stated in a press release on Monday morning.

All games can also be streamed at IHSSN.com as well as its "Watch IHSSN App." However you must purchase a "Game or Tournament Pass."

The IHSAA has litigated a media rights dispute with the IHSSN over the fact that the network is charging people to watch these games.

The IHSAA has objected the idea of live streaming charges since the IHSSN announced its decision this summer. The case is ongoing in the Polk County District Court.

"The IHSAA will continue to pursue free public access to broadcasts and streaming of its championship events. Until then, attending IHSAA championships allows fans to support our schools in person and ensures purchases go toward student-athlete programs and experiences," the IHSAA announced in a press release Monday morning.
