TUF Brazil 3 Finale Results: Stipe Miocic Makes a Short Evening Out of Fabio Maldonado

This one didn't take long.

Stipe Miocic finished Fabio Maldonado in the first round of their “TUF Brazil 3 Finale” in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday night.

Miocic took just 35 seconds to put Maldonado away, domining the Brazilian fighter and winning the bout by technical knockout.

“He's got the heart of a lion,” Miocic said, following the first-round victory. “I needed to get my shots in, and I got an open break and threw a good punch. It may never happen again, but tonight was my night.”

Miocic dropped his opponent early on in the contest, landing a left hand that sent Maldonado falling to the Octagon floor. The Brazilian recovered and returned to his feet, but found himself back against the cage.

With a right hand, Miocic hit Maldonado, dropping him again, this time finishing the fight with hammer fists.

With the win in Brazil, Miocic improved his record to 12-1 and extended his win streak to three.
