In volleyball

Arthur Christian 2, Normal Calvary 0. The host Conquering Riders (20-4) scored a 25-8, 25-11 victory in East Central Illinois Conference play thanks to eight kills, five digs and an ace from Selah Wheeler and 19 assists and two kills from Addi Erwin.

Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin 2, Armstrong-Potomac 0. A swift victory was in store for the Blue Devils (11-7), as they hosted and defeated the Trojans (6-10) in a 25-12, 25-14 Vermilion Valley Conference decision.

Centennial 2, Bloomington 0. The host Chargers (13-14) earned a 25-22, 25-21 win over the Purple Raiders thanks to 19 digs from Nia Bolton and seven combined kills by Lillian Doughty and Brandi Drollinger.

Heritage 2, Villa Grove 1. The Hawks (14-7-2) soared past the Blue Devils (10-8) in a closely contested Lincoln Prairie Conference match, with Mary Roland's 22 assists and Riley Miller's 10 kills clearing the way for a road triumph. Lili Montgomery and Destanee Morgan added 12 digs apiece for Heritage.

Hoopeston Area 2, Schlarman 0. Strong serving from Emmalee Bruens and Kaitlynn Lange — who both had five aces — and three kills apiece from Brylie Cox and Charissa Johnson helped the Cornjerkers (8-9) down the host Hilltoppers (1-11) in a Vermilion Valley Conference contest.

Judah Christian 2, Greenview 0. Hannah Jackson's seven-kill, five-dig performance was enough to guide the host Tribe (17-0) to a 25-12, 25-14 victory in East Central Illinois Conference play. Klementine Davis added 13 assists and a pair of kills, while Rachel Divan had six kills and three aces and Brelyn Riesberg collected seven digs to keep the Tribe's undefeated season intact.

Lexington 2, LeRoy 1. Sixteen kills from Laila Carr, 25 assists from Haley Cox and 23 combined digs from Carr and Molly Buckles weren't enough to save the Panthers (12-8) from an 18-25, 25-17, 25-17 road loss to the Minutemen in Heart of Illinois Conference play.

Mahomet-Seymour 2, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 0. Avery Allen connected on 10 kills while serving three aces and amassing three digs to guide the Bulldogs (16-3) to a 25-11, 25-10 victory over the Panthers (6-11). Ellie Dallas added 10 assists with four digs and two aces to help the Bulldogs' cause.

Monticello 2, Unity 1. The host Sages (15-4) cataloged an 18-25, 25-23, 25-19 win over the Rockets (12-14-1) thanks in part to a 10-kill, 10-dig double-double from Sierrah Downey and eight digs and two aces from Callie Darsham. The Rockets were led by 17 assists from Unity's Lauren Shaw and a 13-kill, 13-dig effort from Reagan Little.

Okaw Valley 2, Blue Ridge 0. Five kills from Kylie Madden, three blocks from Lexi Phelps and three aces from Paige Browning weren't enough to prevent the host Knights (3-17) from falling in a 25-14, 25-13 Lincoln Prairie Conference decision.

Rantoul 2, Pontiac 1. A narrow Illini Prairie Conference match tilted in favor of the Eagles (8-13) as they notched a 25-17, 22-25, 25-22 victory on the strength of 20 assists, five digs and two aces from Ashlee Freeman, 10 kills and three aces from Lily Stalter and seven aces from Lauren Hubert.

St. Thomas More 2, Prairie Central 0. Ten kills apiece from Julia Johnson and Shannon Monahan, 21 assists from Addie Kerr and 11 digs from Audrey Gooding helped the Sabers (15-9) to a 25-22, 25-19 victory over the Hawks in Illini Prairie Conference play. Kerigan Fehr recorded eight kills and Gracie Edelmanassisted on 15 points for the Hawks (17-5).

Tremont 2, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 0. Despite five kills from Savannah Shumate and four kills from Sophia Ray, the Falcons (4-13) met a 25-21, 25-18 loss to Tremont in Heart of Illinois Conference play.

Unity Christian 2, Cerro Gordo/Bement 0. Four kills apiece from Jayda Scott and Haylei Simpson, three kills from Ali Walker and six digs from Skye Tieman weren't enough for the Broncos (17-3) in a 25-17, 25-14 Lincoln Prairie Conference setback.

Watseka 2, Georgetown/Ridge Farm 0. A thrilling second set tilted toward the host Warriors (18-5), who claimed a 25-18, 29-27 Vermilion Valley Conference victory over the Buffaloes (9-12) thanks to nine kills and four aces from Lauren Tegtmeyer, five kills from Haven Meyer, 15 digs from Brianna Denualt and 22 assists from Christa Holohan. Milee Ellis recorded eight kills for the Buffaloes while Ruby Fraser-Soule assisted on 12 points.

Westville 2, Iroquois West 0. Lainey Wichtowksi assisted on 13 points to pave the way for Maddie Appel to slam six kills in Westville's 25-9, 25-14 road win over the Raiders (3-15). Maddy Doggett and Ella Miller added five kills apiece for the Tigers (19-3), while Lani Gondzur and Aubrie Jenkins each collected four digs.

In boys' soccer

Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin 5, Watseka 4. Evan Cole, Dylan Davis, Braden Klugow, Noah Rice and Brendan Whitney all scored goals for the Blue Devils (4-12), who jetted out to a 3-0 halftime advantage over the host Warriors (10-8).

Danville 8, Peoria Manual 3. Five first half goals — two from Cesar Segura and one apiece from Rylan Anderson, Carlos Juarez and Damian Carmona — keyed the Vikings (4-8-3) to a road triumph over the Rams in a Big 12 Conference contest. Juarez added two more goals in the second half to record a hat trick while Shaw Black scored the Vikings' final goal. Austin Brown saved seven shots.

Danville First Baptist 2, Rantoul 1. The Eagles (5-8-1) dropped a nonconference home game to Danville First Baptist, which was propelled by goals from Josiah Watson in each half. Rantoul was paced by Joel Aparacio's first-half score.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Westville 5, Schlarman 0. Two goals from Simon Ankstatis paced Buffaloes (10-2-1), who also received scores from Wes Curry, Easton Barney and Luke Barney during the course of a VVC victory over the host Hilltoppers (2-11). Goalkeeper Matthew Darling pitched a shutout for the Buffaloes.

Mahomet-Seymour 9, St. Thomas More 4. Two goals apiece from Rylan Good, Jack Tanner, Harry Scheuermann and Levi Stephens as well as a goal from Cannon Ureno keyed the Bulldogs (10-2-4) past the host Sabers (4-9-1) in a nonconference clash.

Oakwood/Salt Fork 5, Iroquois West 0. Brody Taflinger scored twice — on assists from Macen Phillips and Ty Smoot — with Smoot, Ethan Merritt and Thomas Wells adding the rest of the offense for Oakwood/Salt Fork (11-6-1) in a Vermilion Conference contest hosted by the Raiders. Ben Hack saved 15 shots for Iroquois West (4-12).

Peoria Notre Dame 2, Champaign Central 1. Matthew Winterbottom scored Champaign Central's lone goal on an assist from Diego Zarco in a Big 12 home loss for the Maroons (11-3-2)

Unity 6, Olympia 0. The Rockets (5-7-1) were led by Gabe Pound's hat trick in a decisive nonconference home win that also included goals from Brendan Bachert and Tyler Huntington. Cole Saunders tallied eight saves for the Rockets.

Urbana 4, Bloomington 1. Julio Hernandez scored twice and Nadav Gal and Kevin Perez added additional goals for the Tigers (6-6-2) as they picked up a road victory in Big 12 play. Perez added an assist for Urbana, while Anthony Bacerril assisted on two shots and Max Kwon-Allred notched one of his own. Henry Burrus saved two shots for the Tigers.

In boys' golf

At Fairbury. Easton Friedman carded a 1-over 37 and Tucker Stoller recorded a 40 to guide Prairie Central to a 164-169 victory over Bloomington Central Catholic and Indian Creek Golf Course. The Hawks were bolstered by a 43 from Jack Schahrer and a 44 from Lane Whitfill .

In girls' swimming and diving

At Normal. Normal Community scored 427 points to win a home meet that also included Olympia (253), Urbana (244) and Mahomet-Seymour (227). The Bulldogs claimed several individual victories with Lainey Howard (200 yard freestyle, 2:09.72 and 100 breaststroke, 1:18.45), Talynn O'Donnell (100 butterfly, 1:02.98 and 100 backstroke, 1:03.91) and Caroline Mills (500 freestyle, 5:52.35) all claiming victories.

In girls' tennis

At St. Joseph. Singles wins from Ava Swartz (6-0, 6-2), Moria Pueschell (6-2, 2-6, 10-8), Marisa Clark (6-2, 6-0) and doubles wins from Pueschell and Sarah Parsons (6-2, 6-4), Swartz and Reagan Anderson (6-1, 6-1) and Clark and Annika Greene (6-0, 6-0) helped Watseka to a 6-3 win over host St. Joseph-Ogden. Lily Rice (6-4, 6-4), Caroline Aden (4-6, 6-3, 10-3) and Olivia Getty (6-2, 6-2) earned singles wins for the Spartans.
