NEENAH - Rainey Welson scored 35 points and the Polar Bears outscored the Rockets 11-9 in overtime to get the win in a battle of top-10 teams in Division 1.
Welson scored six points in the overtime, including a 3-pointer. Paige Lillie had a key steal for a basket and Welson also scored off a stolen inbounds pass to help push the game into overtime for seventh-ranked Hortonville (8-3, 6-1).
The win puts Hortonville in a first-place tie with the second-ranked Rockets (10-2, 6-1). Allie Ziebell had 24 points to lead Neenah with Ellie Buss adding 11 points.
“Winning away games in this league is really, really difficult,” Hortonville coach AC Clouthier said. “And we thought if we were going to have a shot at winning conference or making a run, we have to start here in this facility.”
Mikayla Werner added 12 points and 14 rebounds for Hortonville.

APPLETON – Joey La Chapell poured in a game-high 26 points and the Patriots erased a three-point halftime deficit to pull out the Fox Valley Association win.
Also scoring in double figures for visiting East were Cade Prestigiacomo with 14 points and Grayson Kasmarek with 10.
The Terrors were led in scoring by Lucas Downs with 13 points.
The win moves the Patriots to 2-4 in the conference and 3-5 overall, while West fall to 0-6 and 0-11.
