Tuesday Seacoast Roundup: Portsmouth breaks open 1-point game entering fourth quarter
PORTSMOUTH - The Portsmouth High School girls basketball team entered the fourth quarter with a 1-point lead over Windham, but outscored the Jaguars, 18-2 in the final 8 minutes and walked off with a 60-43 Division I win Tuesday night at Stone Gymnasium.
"We showed a little bit of grit in the fourth quarter," Portsmouth head coach Tim Hopley said. "And you shoot well, it hides a lot of things. (It was) a really, really good shooting fourth quarter."
Both teams are now 8-3 on the season.
Senior Avery Romps led Portsmouth with 18 points, while Margaret Montplaisir scored 10 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter. Maddie MacCannell added 12 points for the Clippers.
GIRLS BASKETBALL

Raymond 17
DOVER – Junior Emilie von der Linden’s 14 points led 10 St. Thomas scorers in this Division III win.
It was the ninth straight win for the Saints, who improved to 12-1 on the season.
Junior Gemma Bolduc added eight points for STA, while Audrey Verde, Maddie McMahon, Lila Anthony, Emma Toriello, and Meg Leahy all had six.

MANCHESTER - Sophomore Anna McGuinness had 16 points and freshman Lexy Rogers had 15 for Exeter (6-6) in this Division I win.
Sophomore Jess Melick added 12 points for the Blue Hawks, and senior MarLie Macek had nine rebounds, and junior Karli Scherpf had five assists and five steals.

YORK, Maine - McKayla Kortes had 11 points and Emma Joyce had 10 for York (9-7) in a Class B South win.

ROCHESTER - Meagan Uraskevich led Spaulding with 12 points, while Ellie Averill and Mackenzie Leblanc both had 10 in this Division I contest.

SOMERSWORTH - Riley Barton's seven points led Somersworth in this Division III contest. Cayla Gonzalez and Kaylee Merrifield each scored five points for the Hilltoppers, while teammate Leah Peña and Dominique Boles played well.

HAMPTON - Senior Tyson Khalil scored 30 points in this Division I loss for Winnacunnet. Jayln Fletcher, Christian Chartier and Andrew Simmons all had five points for the Warriors, who suffered their seventh straight loss and are now 2-9 on the year.
Luke Soden led Bedford (12-0) with 27 points.

RAYMOND - James Allen's 22 points led St. Thomas Aquinas (12-1) to this Division III win.
The Saints allowed Raymond to score just eight points in the first 14 minutes of the second half.
"Raymond couldn't miss in the first half and played great," STA head coach Dave Morissette said. "Real pleased how we came out in the second half."
Will Mollica and Cole McClure both added 15 points for the Saints, while Carson Couperthwait had eight points and 10 rebounds.

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine - Derek Parsons had 17 points and Reece Macdonald had 13, leading York (14-2) to a Class B South win.
York's Lukas Bouchard added 12 points and 18 rebounds.

NASHUA - Sophomore Kyran Jeanpierre's 15 points led Spaulding in this Division I loss. Jaeden Pena led North with 23 points, and Parth Miglani had 22.

HANOVER - The Bobcats missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer, falling in this Division II contest.
Ethan Brewer led Oyster River (6-5) with 16 points. Teammates Matt Jernigan (five points, 10 rebounds) and Brendan Kirby (six points) contributed.

Mt. Ararat 37
SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Deshawn Toussaint's basket with 52 seconds left gave the Hawks a 36-35 lead, and Liam Tiernan hit four free throws down the stretch as Marshwood improved to 3-12 with this Class A South win.
Mt. Ararat is now 6-9.
Tiernan connected on three 3-pointers and led Marshwood with 17 points, while Ronan Garrett finished with nine points, 14 rebounds and five blocks. Toussaint chipped in with seven points.
Dover 63
Bishop Guertin 61
DOVER - David Cady’s offensive rebound and putback at the buzzer gave Dover a 63-61 win over Bishop Guertin in a Division I game.
Dover is now 6-5.
Cady led all scorers with 19 points, while Dylan Jabre added 17, Yavier Morales-Perez had nine and Julian Black eight.

Manchester 3
MANCHESTER - Bizzy Pelletier and Julianna Grella both scored two goals for St. Thomas Aquinas/Winnacunnet/Dover in this Division I game at JFK Arena.
Delaney Riley and Elise Frenette also scored for the Saints. Pelletier, Brielle Kelly, Cristi Trudel and Isabel Lilly all had one assist.
STA/WHS/Dover goalie Kensley Harris had 27 saves.

Marshwood’s Prewitt wins slalom
BRIDGTON, Maine - Marshwood’s Hadley Prewitt placed first with a time of 1:29.17 in a six-team slalom event at Pleasant Mountain.
Marshwood finished fourth with a team score of 60, trailing Falmouth (15), Fryeburg Academy (54) and Greely (60).
Other Marshwood skiers included Sarah McClellan (14th, 2:01.27), Olivia Drake (15th, 2:02.45) and Rowan Waddell (30th, 2:28.25).

Marshwood’s Maguire wins slalom
BRIDGTON, Maine - Marshwood’s Quinn Maguire placed first with a time of 1:28.11 in a seven-team slalom event at Pleasant Mountain.
Marshwood finished third with a team score of 38, trailing Falmouth (26) and Fryeburg Academy (36).
Other Marshwood skiers included Lucas Glidden (ninth, 1:49.15) and Reid Chamberlain (10th, 1:50.07).
