Treylon Burks, Peter Skoronski among Tennessee Titans ruled out with injury vs. Bengals

Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel ruled out four players for the Titans' Week 4 NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals, including starting receiver Treylon Burks and guard Peter Skoronski.

The Titans (1-2) host the Bengals (1-2) at Nissan Stadium on Sunday (noon, Fox). Vrabel's squad will line up without defensive back Elijah Molden (hamstring), Skoronski (abdomen), linebacker Luke Gifford (hamstring) and Burks, who missed the Titans' last two practices with a knee injury.

Veterans DeAndre Hopkins, Derrick Henry and Denico Autry returned to practice on Friday despite appearing on the injury report during the week. Vrabel gave no indication that any of those veterans would be limited Sunday.

Burks injured the LCL in his left knee in training camp. He missed two weeks of practices but returned in time to avoid a stint on the injury report and start for Week 1. He's played in all three Titans games this year, catching six passes for 99 yards.

What Mike Vrabel said about Treylon Burks' injury

Vrabel said Burks' current knee injury is not a reaggravation of the LCL injury from training camp.

"It's just he's not going to be able to be out there for maybe a week or so," Vrabel said. "We'll see how that progresses."

Burks was not available to speak in the Titans' locker room Friday.

Skoronski is recovering from a ruptured appendix that's caused him to miss the last two games. The rookie first-round pick has been replaced by Dillon Radunz in the starting lineup at left guard.

Molden has 17 tackles and a pass breakup in three games this season, including one start. Gifford has primarily played on special teams, logging three tackles. Gifford's absence continues a tough week for Titans' special teamers; the team has also had to put return man Kearis Jackson, running back Julius Chestnut and safety Mike Brown on injured reserve in the last six days.

Kyle Philips nears return from injury

Vrabel expects receiver Kyle Philips to be back in practice next week. Philips injured the MCL in his left knee in the Titans' second preseason game and was put on injured reserve at the end of August. Philips has to sit out four games because he's on injured reserve but the Titans may begin his return to play process at any time, opening up a 21-day window where Philips must be returned to the 53-man roster or placed on season-ending IR.
