Treylon Burks returns to Tennessee Titans preseason game after wrist injury

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks has returned to the team's preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday after suffering a wrist injury.

The team announced earlier that Burks was questionable to return.

Burks came out of the game during the team's second drive of the game at Nissan Stadium. Burks walked into the locker room with Titans medical staff but returned to the sideline in the second quarter and came back into the game with about three minutes left in the half.

Burks missed time during organized team activities in June, but came into training camp in better shape. The first round pick has had a solid camp, though he appears to be behind Robert Woods and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine in the receiving pecking order two weeks before the season opener against the Giants.

"But I was really encouraged by some of the things, especially without the football trying to block,” Vrabel said about Burks after last week's win over Tampa Bay. “There were times that he was open, whether that be for a catch and run, and there were some other times that we’d like to see a better route."

Burks was the 18th overall pick in this year's draft, a selection acquired by the Titans from the Eagles in exchange for A.J. Brown, whose contract negotiations with Tennessee stalled out.

The Arkansas alum caught 66 passes for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns in his breakout 2021 season for the Razorbacks.
