Trent Frederic says Ryan Lomberg was choking him 'a little bit' in Game 2

Frederic says Lomberg was choking him 'a little bit' in Game 2 originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic had quite an experience toward the end of Wednesday night's Game 2 against the Florida Panthers.

Frederic got tangled up with Panthers forward Ryan Lomberg as time expired on Florida's 6-3 win at TD Garden. The two of them fought despite neither player taking off his gloves. They wrestled each other to the ground and Lomberg eventually wound up on top of Frederic.

What happened next?

Here's what Frederic said after Friday's morning skate in Florida, per Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic:

That sounds kinda scary.

Here's how the incident unfolded:

Frederic and Lomberg were both given a misconduct after this altercation. Lomberg actually had a pretty eventful night. In addition to this fight, he also was penalized for cross-checking Brad Marchand in the first period and slashing Nick Foligno in the second period. Lomberg racked up 14 penalty minutes in total.

You can bet the Bruins will be aware of Lomberg at all times for the rest of the series. He's going to try to get under the Bruins' skin and take their focus off the main objective.
