TRACK ROUNDUP: Tantasqua runs to SWCL girls' title; Ayer-Shirley sweeps Mid-Wach D crowns

Girls' track

SWCL Championships: Keoni Savoie won the 100 (12.68) and the 200 (26.25), while Tessa Kline took the mile (5:34.02) and Hailey McCormack won the high jump (5-2) to propel Tantasqua to the league title with 131 points at Oxford High.

Tantasqua also captured the 400 relay (53.63) and the 1,600 relay (4:33.33) to help the Warriors fend off Uxbridge (113 points).

The Spartans were led by Kathryn Cahill, who won the 110 hurdles (15.41), the 400 hurdles (1:08.73) and the long jump (16-5). Uxbridge also got wins from Milla Mace in the javelin (90-1) and Lily Brayman in the shot put (32-10.5).

Auburn's Molly Hilditch won the 800 (2:26.88) to help the Rockets finish third with 55 points. Grafton's Allie Shrayer won the 400 (1:02.02), Oxford's Cameron Davis won the 2 mile (12:04.62), Leicester's Nina Dykas won the discus (86-9) and David Prouty's Elianna Barnett claimed the triple jump (34-2.5).

Mid-Wach D Championships: Allison Gravelle captured the shot put (28-7) and the discus (97-6) and Emily Churchill won the javelin (94-7) and the 400 (1:01.5) as Ayer-Shirley cruised to the team title with 231 points at Ayer-Shirley Regional.

Ayer-Shirley swept the relays, winning the 400 (51.5), the 1,600 (4:30.69) and the 3,200 (11:56.58). The Panthers also got wins from Chandra Eli-Johnson (200, 27.53) and Isabel Bresnahan (400 hurdles, 1:07.72).

Tahanto's Julia Viaud won the long jump (16-8) and the triple jump (34-10) to help the Stags place second with 106 points.

Narragansett's Ruby Keating (800, 2:31.18) and Ashlynn Duplessis (high jump, 5-0) also took wins, as did Murdock's Avery Murphy (mile, 5:28.27).

Boys' track

Mid-Wach D Championships: Jacob Kalgren recorded wins in the 200 (23.06), 110 hurdles (15.26) and the shot put (40-0.50) as host Ayer-Shirley rolled to the team title with 212 points.

Ayer-Shirley's Jake Leone won the 2 mile (10:53.32), while teammates Tommy Bergin claimed the javelin (137-7) and Cole New won the 400 (51.42). The Panthers were also tops in the 1,600 relay (3:43.95).

Tahanto took second with 125 points, as the Stags were led by Jay Shenko, who won the long jump (20-11) and the triple jump (37-11) and Parker Diaz, who won the 100 (11.62) and relay wins in the 400 (45.72) and the 3,200 (9:55.49).

Maynard's Gabe Aroian was also a double winner, taking the 800 (2:04.17) and the 400 hurdles (1:02.18) to help the Tigers take third with 110 points. Maynard's Alex Gwozdz won the 400 hurdles (1:02.18) and teammate Bruce French won the discus (132-11).
