Tottenham Women are breaking new ground, having reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time in their history.

Sunday will be uncharted territory for the club but manager Robert Vilahamn insists they want to be regularly challenging for major trophies.

"I want to be a dominant team," says Vilahamn, who has overseen a season of real progress at Spurs since taking over last summer.

Tottenham are hugely improved under the Swede and currently sit sixth in the Women’s Super League (WSL) table, three places and eight points above a Leicester side also bidding to reach their first FA Cup final.

"We want to reach Wembley and win the FA Cup," says Vilahamn. "We are happy where we are, but we want to build a mentality where we are never happy.

"To learn to be a really good team you need to learn to be in finals, you can't just wake up one day and be amazing. Tottenham being in a final needs to become normal.

"It would definitely be the biggest thing I have done. But how I want to be judged is how I create an environment and develop players.

"The main thing for me is to make sure that Tottenham become the best club in the world.

"Grace Clinton is the key example of how we can improve a player. I'm happy with where we are right now."

On-loan Manchester United midfielder Clinton has starred for Spurs this season, played her way into the Lionesses team and will be key to their chances on Sunday.

As well as reaching their first FA Cup semi-final, Spurs have also beaten north London rivals Arsenal for the first time in the WSL this season, yet Vilahamn wants more progress.

"All these firsts are proof that we are doing good stuff," he says. "But you want to stay there. Being in finals is a feeling I want to have."
