Here are the Tuscaloosa area top performers from the week of Feb. 19-23, from high school basketball, soccer, baseball and softball.

Boys basketball

Monday, Feb. 19

American Christian Academy's Davis Dare put up 21 points to go with five assists and four rebounds in a 60-51 victory over Bibb County in the boys 4A central regional semifinal.

American Christian Academy's Eric Hines added 15 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and one steal.

Bibb County's Jordan Leverette finished with 19 points and five rebounds in a 60-51 loss to American Christian in the boys 4A central regional semifinal.

Bibb County's Elijah Jackson added nine points and eight rebounds.

South Lamar's Kye Crimm led the Stallions offense, scoring 12 points to go with three rebounds in a 61-40 loss to Calhoun in the boys 1A central regional final.

South Lamar's Reshawn Charleston added seven points.

Wednesday, Feb. 21

American Christian Academy's Davis Dare scored 23 points to go with five assists in a 51-48 win over Hale County in the boys 4A central regional final. Dare was named tournament MVP.

American Christian Academy's Eric Hines added 14 points, 13 rebounds, two blocks and one steal and was named to the all-tournament team.

American Christian Academy's Hunter Bates was named to the all-tournament team.

Demopolis's Zanarian Johnson led the team with 20 points in a 62-53 loss to Valley in the boys 5A central regional final.

Demopolis's Dalyn Jackson finished with 18 points.

Sumter Central's Jonathan Finch led the team with 19 points in a 58-47 win over Trinity in the boys 3A central regional final.

Sumter Central's Emmanuel Clarton finished with 16 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Girls basketball

Tuesday, Feb. 20

Hillcrest's Jareah Branch led the Lady Patriots with 15 points to go with five assists, five steals and four rebounds in a 57-42 win over Pelham in the girls 6A central regional final.

Hillcrest's Briyana Turner added 10 points with six rebounds and was named the tournament MVP.

Hillcrest's Jareah Branch, Sinaya Gibson and Trinity Braggs were named to the all-tournament team.

Boys soccer

Monday, Feb. 19

Tuscaloosa Academy's Brock Abston, Kito Lao and Anton Schmidt each scored a goal in a 3-2 win over Wetumpka.

Tuesday, Feb. 20

American Christian Academy's DJ Daly scored on an assist from Austin Hargrove in a 1-1 tie with Hillcrest.

American Christian Academy's Oliver Sullivan had three saves in goal.

Northside's Levi Jimenez and Lynn Otero each added three goals apiece in a 6-0 victory over Holy Spirit, while Otero also added an assist.

Northside's Andy Otero recorded two assists, while Luke Mason and Eder Miranda each contributed one.

Northside's Seth Gear recorded a clean sheet in goal with three saves.

Tuscaloosa County's Junior Solis scored a team-high five goals to go with one assist in a 10-0 win over Central.

Tuscaloosa County's Jose Nolasco added three goals and two assists.

Tuscaloosa County's Jacob Gomez scored one goal and had one assist, while Jose Hernandez added one goal and Jose Ramirez added an assist.

Thursday, Feb. 22

Northside's Andy Otero and Eder Miranda each scored a goal in a 2-1 win over Brookwood.

Northside's Seth Gear recorded 10 saves in goal.

Friday, Feb. 23

Tuscaloosa Academy's Anton Schmidt scored four goals in a 5-2 win over American Christian Academy, while Brock Abston scored one goal.

Saturday, Feb. 24

Tuscaloosa County's Jesus Quezada scored two goals in a 3-3 tie with Carroll.

Tuscaloosa County's Junior Solis scored one goal and led the team with nine shots on goal.

Girls soccer

Tuesday, Feb. 20

American Christian Academy's Addison Golden scored two goals and added an assists in a 3-2 win to Hillcrest.

American Christian Academy's Jocie Oats added one goal.

American Christian Academy's Reagan McGough and Kaylee Shaw each added an assist.

American Christian Academy's Savannah Aderholt had 15 saves in the game and was named Player of the Match.

Tuscaloosa County's Peytyn Culbertson recorded a hat trick in a 3-0 win over Central along with five shots on goal.

Tuscaloosa County's Mariela Soto added two assists while Hayley Swanger added one.

Baseball

Tuesday, Feb. 20

Tuscaloosa Academy got an opening day win over Northside 8-2.

Thursday, Feb. 22

Tuscaloosa Academy defeated Sulligent by a score of 15-1.

Tuscaloosa County's Kole Nicholson went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI in a 2-0 win over Orange Beach.

Tuscaloosa County's Camden Barnett went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Softball

Saturday, Feb. 17

Northridge's Elliot Williams went 4-for-6 with one RBI in three games at the Sipsey Valley Tournament.

Northridge's Anna Grace Reed went 4-for-7 with four RBIs, two stolen bases, two doubles and two runs scored.

Northridge's Madelyn Abston went 4-for-6 with one triple, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Northridge's Mary Hays Henderson went 3-for-6 with two RBIs, one double and one sacrifice bunt.

Tuesday, Feb. 20

Hale County's MaCayla O'Quinn went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, two runs and one homerun in a 13-8 win over Sipsey Valley.

Hale County's Summer Stephens added in four RBIs.

Hale County's Ragan Landrum went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two doubles and one run.

Sipsey Valley's Sarah Aaron was 3-for-5 with three runs scored in a 13-8 loss to Hale County.

Tuscaloosa Academy had an 18-3 opening day victory over Holt.

Thursday, Feb. 22

Hale County's Alex Gray went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in a 6-3 win over Gordo.

Hale County's Caylee Montgomery went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Hale County's Brylie Frye went 1-for-3 drawing a walk, scoring a run and adding three RBIs.

Hale County's Addison Mason pitched all seven innings, throwing 87 pitches in the win.

Friday, Feb. 23

Northridge's Anna Grace Reed went 4-for-8 with two RBIs and a batting average of .530 after eight games played.

Northridge's Mary Hayes Henderson went 4-for-7 with two doubles and an RBI.

Northridge's Anna Cate Henderson went 4-for-7 with a double and two RBIs.

Northridge's Shelby Savage went 5-for-7 with two stolen bases.

Tuscaloosa County's Karlie Beth Beasley finished the week going 6-for-16 at the plate with six RBIs and three home runs. She also pitched 12 complete innings, giving up no runs and striking out 14 as she went 2-0.
