Max Martin, Shelby: Scored two goals, including the game-winning penalty kick with 31 seconds left to help the Golden Lions to a 5-4 victory over Brevard.

Girls tennis

Laura Womack, Crest: Won 6-1, 6-2 in No. 5 singles, along with an 8-6 win in No. 3 doubles. Crest lost the match 6-3 to Forestview.

Lilly Friday, Forestview: Won 6-4, 6-4 in No. 3 singles and an 8-3 win in No. 2 doubles. Forestview won the match 6-3 over Crest.

Rennie Liu, Forestview: Won 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 singles, along with an 8-2 win in No. 1 doubles.

Madison Darnell, Highland Tech: Won 6-1, 6-3 in No. 1 singles, along with an 8-4 win in No. 1 doubles. Highland Tech won its match with Shelby, 5-4.
