The top high school sports performers of the week in the Austin area

Here are the top high school sports performers for the Austin area this week.

Boys Basketball

Kai Canfield, Georgetown: Made a school-record 10 3-pointers on his way to 42 points to lead the Eagles to an 82-49 win over Bastrop. Was 7-of-9 from behind the arc in the first quarter alone.

Braeden Spinden, Bowie: Tallied 18 points and six rebounds as the Bulldogs defeated Anderson 52-42. Mason Wasserburger added nine points for Bowie.

Josh Korah, LASA: Led the Raptors with 13 points in a 69-40 win over Travis as they secured the No. 2 seed out of District 24-5A. Pat Walsh had nine points and Jonah Cihock added eight points for LASA.

Sam McKinney, Johnson: Was one of 12 Jaguars who scored in a 70-38 win over Del Valle and paced the team with 12 points. Seven different players hit 3-pointers. Jayvonne Flores also had 10 points to reach double figures.

Sean Dahlberg, Leander: Scored 22 points as the Lions clinched a playoff berth with a 60-37 win at Hays.

Ryder Bradley, Leander: Finished with a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds to help the Lions past Hays. JD Wilson tallied 10 points to give Leander three players in double figures.

Jayden Thomas, Lake Travis: Paced the Cavs with 18 points as they clinched their first district title in nine years after an 84-44 win over Akins.

Adrian Mathis, Lake Travis: Added 13 points in the win vs. Akins.

Chi Ukachukwu, Hendrickson: Sank 19 points as the Hawks defeated Elgin 67-46.

Amir Thompson, Hendrickson: Scored 17 points to help the Hawks to a 67-46 win vs. Elgin.

Dallas Hernandez, Glenn: Finished with 11 points and four rebounds in the Grizzlies’ 54-42 win over Lockhart.

Jordan Thompson, Glenn: Recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists as part of the team’s 54-42 win against Lockhart.

George McCoy, McCallum: Led the Knights with 12 points as they completed a perfect run through District 24-5A by defeating Northeast 82-53.

Jo-Jo Moore, Rouse: Sank 22 points to lead the Raiders past Liberty Hill 70-56. Amarie Haywood and Devin Brown both added 17 points in the win.

Josiah Moseley, Stony Point: Produced an impressive double-double of 30 points and 16 rebounds in a 91-58 win vs. Manor. Uzziah Buntyn had 19 points and Junior Goodlet tallied 12 points to join him in double figures.

Mark Fletcher, Vandegrift: Paced the Vipers with 14 points as they ended the regular season with a 47-37 win over Westwood.

Andre Griffin and Rowan Mandler, Round Rock: Both tallied 12 points in a 65-40 win against Vista Ridge.

Nabil Ismail, Cedar Park: Led the Timberwolves with 14 points as they beat Lehman 68-36. Ethan O'Connor added 12 points and Reid Vines chipped in 10 points to join him in double figures.

Jayden Prioleau, East View: Scored 22 points to pace the Patriots to a 63-53 win over Connally. Terrion Benson added 16 points and Levi Robertson finished with 14 points and eight rebounds in other notable performances for East View.

Girls Basketball

Reese Hoadley, Georgetown: Poured in 40 points in a 71-27 win vs. LASA to start the Class 5A playoffs. Bella Dabbs added eight assists for the Eagles.

Chasidy Lee, Georgetown: Recorded a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds to help spur the Eagles past LASA in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs.

Kennedy Carlyle, Cedar Park: Produced an impressive double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves past Canyon Pieper in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs. Mariah Dais added 13 points for Cedar Park.

Soma Okolo, Glenn: Went off for 32 points as the Grizzlies hammered Smithson Valley 64-32 in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs. Lauren Taylor added 12 points in the win.

Hendrickson’s offense: Niyah Waters scored 22 points while Jasmine Culpepper (13 points), Trinity Jackson (10) and Trinity Alexander (10) all joined her in double figures as the Hawks defeated Crockett 82-18 to begin the Class 5A playoffs.

Mallory Owens, Round Rock Christian: Had 17 points to lead the Crusaders by Marble Falls Faith Academy 36-14. Ava Zamora chipped i 13 points in the victory.

Gianna Angiolet, Westlake: Led the Chaps with 12 points in a 47-34 win over Round Rock to start the Class 6A playoffs.

Tamia King, Westlake: Recorded a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds as the Chaps topped Round Rock 47-34 in their playoff opener.

Kianna Wormly, Vista Ridge: Highlighted four Rangers players in double figures with 15 points in a 69-40 win in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs. Sayler Bourland and Nadine Adeleke both had 12 points and Nadia Adeleke added 11 points for Vista Ridge.

Emy Chen, McCallum: Scored 21 points to lead McCallum to a 42-38 Class 5A playoff win over East View.

Sam Cowles, McCallum: Recorded a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Knights topped East View in Class 5A playoff action.

Kyley Atkinson and Madelyn Bowman, Vandegrift: Combined for 21 points and several key rebounds in a 42-39 win over Bowie to start the Class 6A playoffs.

Madyson Mitchell, Taylor: Poured in 31 points and had seven rebounds, six steals and five assists as the Ducks crushed Houston Worthing in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Asia Zachary, Taylor: Scored 13 points to help the Ducks defeat Houston Worthing to start the Class 4A playoffs.

Campbell Cooper, La Grange: Tallied 25 points in a playoff win over Houston Washington.

Boys soccer

Nuhan Mahmud, Round Rock: Finished with a goal and two assists to pace the Dragons’ 3-2 win over Westwood. Diego De La Mano and Logan Fossett also had goals for Round Rock.

Cyrus Keah, Vista Ridge: Scored a brace and hand an assist as the Rangers shutout Cedar Ridge 3-0. Will Payton had two assists and J Mossholder also scored for Vista Ridge, which received a combined clean sheet from Hayden Erickson and Josiah Bishara.

Owen Roof, LASA: Tallied a hat trick in the Raptors’ 4-0 win over Travis.

Yohannes Heineman, LASA: Finished with a goal and three assists in a 4-0 victory against Travis.

Joe Kwon, Bowie: Produced a goal and two assists as the Bulldogs beat Anderson 6-0. Karsten Albrecht, Derek York and Griffin Crawley also scored in the win.

Garrett Herb, Bowie: Had a goal and assist in a 6-0 win against Anderson. Jake Ciccarello, Fritz Del Negro and Rowen Well also had assists.

Marco Vidal, LASA: Recorded the clean sheet in the win vs. Travis.

Lawrence Doe, Connally: Had two goals and an assist to lead the Cougars by East View 3-0. Orlando Frias also found the net for Connally, with Roger Ruiz providing the shutout.

Vandegrift’s offense: Luke Hawley, Yandel Andrade, Lars Spinetta and Blake Melcher scored and Rory Jacops and Grant Teodecki recorded assists as the Vipers beat Stony Point 5-1.

Georgetown’s offense: Nick Prisco, Benni Ponce and Martin Valdes tallied goals and JJ Carrillo and Micah Vogler had assists as the Eagles blanked Bastrop 3-0.

Juanjose Serrano, Georgetown: Provided the shutout in goal as the Eagles topped Bastrop 3-0.

Rouse’s offense: Austin Bint, Connor Courville and Sebastian Grande-Flores all scored for the Raiders as they topped rival Cedar Park 3-1.

Eli Walkup, Weiss: Scored twice on headers off corner kicks from Justin Abarca as the Wolves took the District 12-6A lead with a 3-1 win over Waco Midway. Sang Pi tallied the other goal thanks to an assist from Dylan Bergvall.

Salah Moudni, Pflugerville: Had a brace for the second straight match in the Panthers’ 6-0 win vs. Cedar Creek. Carlos Cruz, Joel Vergara, Emmanuel Castelan also found the net for Pflugerville.

Luis Martinez, Pflugerville: Tallied a goal and an incredible four assists as the Panthers defeated Cedar Creek 6-0. Juan Denova and Nico Marra combined for the shutout in goal, with Marra stopping a penalty late in the contest.

Jacob Youngkin, Hendrickson: Finished with a brace to lead the Hawks by Elgin 3-1. Miguel Escalante also scored for Hendrickson.

Alejandro Ruiz and Misael Rangel, Del Valle: Scored in the Cardinals 2-1 district win vs. Johnson.

Jack Cox, Westwood: Scored for the third game in a row on a direct free kick in a 3-2 loss to Round Rock. Caleb Fagan also found the net off a pass from Pablo Zavala.

Parker Johnson, Dripping Springs: Bent a shot around a wall on a free kick in the final two minutes to give the Tigers a 1-0 win over Austin High.

McCallum’s offense: Gus Ehlers, Speight Twohey and Luka Alvarez- Scarborough all found the net in a 3-0 victory against Eastside. Ohad Klein tallied an assist.

Summit Flowers, McCallum: Provided the clean sheet in goal for the Knights in their win vs. Eastside.

Augustine Bitomwa, Northeast: Had a brace in a 3-3 draw with Navarro. Roger Amador, Erick Velasquez and Juan Gonzalez all had assists for the Raiders.

Christian Crespell and Ayden Sadat, Lake Travis: Helped the Cavs keep their playoff hopes alive by scoring in a 2-0 win over Akins.

Girls soccer

Bowie’s offense: Valeria Portilla, Ava Grosso, Macy Jennings and Elizabeth White all scored for the Bulldogs in a big 4-3 District 26-6A win vs. Anderson.

Paige Davis, Leander: Scored two goals in an 8-0 win vs. Lockhart. Maria Frazier, Sadie Guzman, Kensley Seaman Smith, Kylie Jamar and Alicia Aguinaga also scored.

Teagan Wahle, Leander: Tallied a goal and three assists against Lockhart during an 8-0 win. Kenzie Borie, Guzman and Seaman Smith also had assists.

Drew Taylor, Johnson: Recorded a brace to lead the Jaguars past Del Valle 4-1. Annie Rocha and Lilley Christenson also found the net in the win.

Emie Benson, Georgetown: Finished four goals as the Eagles defeated Bastrop 6-0. Finley Newell and Tori Phillips also scored in the win.

Mia Wiele, Westwood: Scored two late goals to give the Warriors a 2-2 draw with Round Rock.

AJ Mayock and Carly Sullivan, Round Rock: Finished goals for the Dragons in a 2-2 draw vs. Westwood.

Amelia Clark, Lake Travis: Tallied an astounding four goals during the Cavs’ 6-0 win over Akins. Avery Wighaman also scored for Lake Travis.

Banin Patterson, Lake Travis: Recorded a goal and an assist during a 6-0 victory against Akins. Jaz Diaz, Addie Hall and Avery Newman also had assists, while Mikaila Hand was awarded Woman of the Match.

Meredith Koltz and Lily Rangel, Cedar Park: Scored goals during a 2-2 draw with Rouse.

Kylie Snell, Rouse: Produced two assists in a 2-2 tie vs. Cedar Park. Ashley Perez and Mia Merz finished goals for the Raiders.
