Tony Parker, Boris Diaw spark Spurs by Clippers

Tim Duncan posted his 15th double-double this season, scoring 21 points and registering 12 rebounds, to help the San Antonio Spurs defeat the Los Angeles Clippers, 125-118. The Spurs were on fire in this one, going 49-77 (63.6%) from the field, including 13-23 (56.5%) from three-point range. San Antonio (18-11) gets one in the win column after losing to Dallas on Saturday.

Duncan finished 9-16 from the field. Other top contributors for San Antonio included Boris Diaw with 23 points and six rebounds, and Manu Ginobili with 19 points and 10 assists. Chris Paul had another strong game for Los Angeles in the loss, scoring 25 points on 8-17 shooting (3-6 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 6-7 from the free throw line. He also registered nine assists. Blake Griffin chipped in 22 points and six rebounds.

Along with their eFG% of 72.1%, the Spurs connected at a rate of 56.5% from 3-point range. On the season, they are undefeated (6-0) when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Clippers are 1-3 when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.

This drops Los Angeles (19-9) to 0-2 versus San Antonio on the season.

Coming up next, the Spurs square off with the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are 13-15 on the year. The Clippers match up with the Atlanta Hawks, currently 20-7 this season.
