Tom Brady and the Buccaneers win Super Bowl LV

Tom Brady was the greatest quarterback of all time, even before Super Bowl LV. Somehow, his legacy grew even greater on Sunday with a seventh Super Bowl win by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brady managed to win a Super Bowl in his first season away from Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, who helped him win his six other titles.

Not only did Brady and the Buccaneers open as 3.5-point underdogs, but he was facing, frankly, a more talented quarterback in Patrick Mahomes, who was a fierce operator of the vaunted Chiefs offense until Sunday. Mahomes had an MVP trophy in his first season as a starter and a Super Bowl trophy in his second — and now in his third, he comes away with a still-impressive Super Bowl loss. Mahomes seems like the only quarterback in the NFL who has a shot at taking a run at Brady’s records — but the Buccaneers quarterback kept Mahomes from narrowing the gap.

Brady is now 7-3 in Super Bowls, with losses only to the New York Giants (twice) and the Philadelphia Eagles. His Super Bowl wins came against the St. Louis Rams, the Carolina Panthers, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Seattle Seahawks, the Atlanta Falcons, the Los Angeles Rams and, now, the Chiefs.
