Titans back in top 10 of USA TODAY’s NFL power rankings after Week 11

The Tennessee Titans were in a bad way after losing three of their last four games prior to Week 11, but a victory over the Baltimore Ravens has righted the ship and put the Titans in a playoff spot for the time being.

With the victory over the Ravens, USA TODAY’s Nate Davis moved the Titans back into the top 10 of his NFL power rankings, placing them at No. 8, which is three spots higher than last week.

Here’s his write up for Tennessee:

8. Titans (11): RB Derrick Henry is on pace to be the first player since Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson in 2007 to win consecutive rushing titles. King Henry is also on track for 1,726 yards on the ground, which would beat his personal best by nearly 200 yards.

That’s about where we had the Titans in our own power rankings. We placed head coach Mike Vrabel’s squad at No. 9, but close enough.

Davis’ top 10 is as follows:

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers

  2. Kansas City Chiefs

  3. New Orleans Saints

  4. Los Angeles Rams

  5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  6. Indianapolis Colts

  7. Green Bay Packers

  8. Tennessee Titans

  9. Buffalo Bills

  10. Seattle Seahawks

Tennessee will head to Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 12 to face the equally 7-3 Indianapolis Colts, a team that beat the Titans back in Week 10.

A win for the Titans would help them reclaim the top spot in the AFC South by giving them the edge in divisional record, which would become the first tiebreaker after the head-to-head record is even.

However, a Tennessee loss would give Indianapolis a stranglehold for the division, as the Colts would own the head-to-head tiebreaker, on top of having the better overall record.
