Tight end Jay Lindsey decommits from Mississippi State football 2024 class

STARKVILLE — Tight end Jay Lindsey, who had committed to Mississippi State football in April, announced Saturday night that he has decommitted from the Bulldogs.

Lindsey, a three-star recruit out of Butler, Alabama, was coach Zach Arnett's fourth commit of the Class of 2024.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder posted the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter. Above his statement, he wrote, "Please respect my decision, Big things to come."

The Bulldogs have not had a tight end recruited out of high school since the 2018 class. They need an addition at the position as they transition from the Air Raid offense to offensive coordinator Kevin Barbay's scheme.
