The Tigers nearly completed a five-run rally, but dropped a 10-8 verdict to Raymond-South Bend on Tuesday night in South Bend.

Four runs in the top of the third inning erased a 7-2 deficit, then Napavine (0-1) grabbed a one-run lead with two runs in the top of the fourth. R-SB responded with two in the bottom half and an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth.

"We hit the ball really well," Tigers coach Josh Fay said. "I thought we did a lot of good stuff."

Hannah Fay and Clara Fay each went 3-for-4 at the plate. Clara Fay roped a pair of extra-base hits and drove in two runs while Hannah crossed home plate three times. Hayden Kaut notched three RBIs and Grace Gall recorded a triple.

Hannah Fay tossed six innings and allowed eight earned runs (10 total) in the circle and issued nine walks against the Ravens with three strikeouts.

"Gotta clean up the walks and we had some baserunning mistakes, but those are all things that we can fix and improve on," Coach Fay said.

Napavine will turn around quickly and face Ilwaco on Thursday.
