Tiger Woods is a billionaire, joining Michael Jordan, LeBron James as the only athletes to accomplish the feat
Tiger Woods has won 15 major championships. He’s won 82 times on the PGA Tour. And he’s in the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Now? Well, now he’s reached another milestone.
Woods is the third athlete to become a billionaire, joining LeBron James and Michael Jordan, according to Forbes.
On the golf course, Woods has earned $120,895,206. But, thanks to multiple sponsorships and partnerships, highlighted by his long-time relationship with Nike, the 46-year-old has crossed the 10-digit threshold.
James and Jordan, too, have had long relationships with Nike.
While talking to the Washington Post, Greg Norman, the head of the LIV Golf Series, admitted to offering Woods a deal described as “mind-blowingly enormous; we’re talking about high nine digits.”
Guess Woods was right, he didn’t need the money.
As for the next time we’ll see Woods tee it up, we know it won’t come at next week’s U.S. Open. He previously talked about being ready to play in the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews.
Woods won the 2000 and 2005 Open at St. Andrews for his first two Claret Jugs.
