That's a strike! Here is The Ledger's girls' bowling All-County Team
It's been a whirlwind of a year for girls' bowling, but it was a successful season for sure.
In the second year the sport was officially sectioned by the FHSAA, George Jenkins did as well as it possibly could, advancing all the way to state.
And of course, in order to advance all the way to state, you need some of the best bowlers in the county to lead the way, and George Jenkins certainly has that thanks to the coaching of Matt Townley, who is The Ledger's Girls' Coach of the Year.
Below are the best Girls' bowlers in Polk County.
Girls' Bowler of the Year
Grace Davis
Lake Wales, Senior
Average: 160
This is the second year in a row that Grace Davis earned The Ledger's Girls' Bowler of the Year, and with good reason: The senior was the No.1 bowler at districts and finished 41st in the state.
Girls' Coach of the Year
Matt Townley
George Jenkins
In the second year that the sport of bowling was officially sanctioned, Townley was at the helm of a team that finished with a final regular season record of 7-1 and was 1A District 8 Champions. They made it all the way to state, going on to play the No. 1 and the No. 8 teams in the entire state.
