Texas receives projections to land DeAndre Moore and Jelani McDonald

The Texas Longhorns are generating some buzz on the recruiting trail. Recruiting experts are taking notice.

The Longhorns are now trending for two big time targets. On Sunday we learned that Rivals’ Jason Suchomel expects four-star athlete Jelani McDonald to choose Texas. 247 Sports’ Mike Roach followed that news by placing a prediction for the burnt orange to win out for four-star wide receiver and current Louisville commit DeAndre Moore.

Make no mistake, both players would be huge wins for Texas and could make an impact right away. McDonald’s recruitment is viewed as a Texas vs TCU battle. The elite talent can play on both sides of the football, but could bolster the Texas linebacking corps should he elect to play defense.

Moore would complete what would be one of Texas’ best receiving classes ever compiled. The California product would join On3 consensus receivers Johntay Cook (No. 45 overall) and Ryan Niblett (No. 73 overall). The California receiver is the No. 101 overall recruit in the On3 consensus.

Here’s a look at what Texas would get from those two elite players.
