Texas offers Central Michigan transfer safety Devonni Reed

The Longhorns do not seem to be done using the transfer portal this offseason. Texas has made an offer to Central Michigan safety Devonni Reed, who entered the transfer portal on Sunday.

Reed has already received offers from the likes of South Carolina, Louisville and Colorado.

Texas already has made national headlines in snagging a pair of Ohio State transfers, Quinn Ewers and Ryan Watts, but still have a few positions of need.

Reed took home all-conference honors during his last two seasons at CMU. In 2021, Reed made 72 tackles, snagged two interceptions and broke up six passes.

It would be a natural fit into the Texas secondary for Reed as the Horns lost both starting safeties from the 2021 season. Adding Watts and Reed would be significant upgrades in the defensive backs room.

Here is a look at some of Reed’s highlights via Twitter.
