Texas A&M to hire Ohio State’s Jamie Wood to be the assistant athletic director of NIL

The new frontier of brand deals and other compensation for college athletes, has many universities working hard to navigate the complexity of staying compliant with the various rules. In an effort to keep Texas A&M at the forefront of the NIL landscape, they brought on Jamie Wood who recently served as the assistant director of compliance at Ohio State.

Wood confirmed the news via his social media with the following post:

“From the Buckeye state to the Lone Star state, I’m excited to head west to Texas A&M and help make a lasting impact in their department as Assistant AD of NIL.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

Leaving the nest for the first time brings up all kinds of emotions, but I’m ready”

The role of Assistant AD of NIL is a new position established by the university and there is no doubt Jamie Wood will be a great addition to the Ross Bjorks team.

Prior to joining the compliance staff, Jamie served as a summer intern in the inaugural class of the Huntington Bucks Go Pro Program.  He also served as an administrative assistant for the current Deputy Director of Athletics, Janine Oman, from 2011 to 2013.
