The Big 12 released its conference schedule for the 2023-24 season, which will mark Texas' final season in the Big 12 before joining the SEC in July.

Three appearances on ESPN’s “Big Monday” telecast and one final conference visit to Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas, highlight the Big 12 schedule for the Texas men’s basketball team.

The Big 12 released the league schedule on Tuesday. Texas opens conference action with a home contest against Texas Tech on Jan. 6 and concludes  conference play with a home game against Oklahoma on March 9.

In between those dates, the Longhorns face some intriguing matchups in their final run through a 16-team Big 12 before joining the SEC in July.

Texas’ “Big Monday” appearances including home games against Houston on Jan. 29 and Kansas State on Feb. 19 in addition to a road game at Baylor on March 4. The Longhorns will visit Kansas Feb. 24 in their one meeting with the defending Big 12 regular-season champions.

Kansas edged second-place Texas for the regular-season title a year ago before the Longhorns topped Kansas in the Big 12 Tournament title game.

Each of the league’s 14 schools during the 2023-24 conference schedule will play five Big 12 opponents twice, then play the other eight conference opponents once (four home and four away) for a total of 18 league games. Texas will meet Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and West Virginia both at home and on the road during its conference schedule. The Longhorns will host Big 12 games against Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and UCF and will play league road games against BYU, Cincinnati, Kansas and TCU.

The Big 12 tournament will take place March 12-16 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
