Terrance McKinney says he’s fighting Chris Duncan at UFC’s Oct. 14 show
Just a few weeks after he snapped a two-fight skid, Terrance McKinney has his next assignment.
The lightweight posted on Instagram late Monday to say he has booked a fight for the UFC’s Oct. 14 Fight Night card. McKinney (14-6 MMA, 4-3 UFC) said he’ll take on Chris Duncan (11-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) next month.
UFC officials have not yet formally announced the matchup, which will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Broadcast details have not been finalized, but the card will air or stream on ESPN and ESPN+.
After a five-fight winning streak, including stoppages in his first two UFC fights with a seven-second KO of Matt Frevola, McKinney was mired in a slump with three losses in four fights. But in August, he got back on track with an 85-second knockout of Mike Breeden. Now he’ll make a quick turnaround for his fourth fight of 2023.
Duncan, an American Top Team-based 30-year-old from Scotland, has won four straight. He got his UFC shot through Dana White’s Contender Series and has wins over Omar Morales and Yanal Ashmouz earlier this year.
With the addition, the UFC’s Oct. 14 lineup now includes:
Edson Barboza vs. Sodiq Yusuff
Irina Alekseeva vs. Melissa Dixon
Emily Ducote vs. Ashley Yoder
Jonathan Martinez vs. Adrian Yanez
David Dvorak vs. Tatsuro Taira
Viviane Araujo vs. Jennifer Maia
Heili Alateng vs. Rani Yahya
Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Michel Pereira
Christian Rodriguez vs. Cameron Saaiman
TJ Brown vs. Darren Elkins
