Tennessee Titans rookie QB Will Levis not expected to play vs. Patriots Friday | Report

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is not expected to play in the Titans' preseason finale against the New England Patriots on Friday, per a report from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Levis has been dealing with an injury to his upper leg for over a week. The injury kept him out of the Titans' preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings last Saturday but he returned to practice in a full capacity Wednesday. Speaking about the injury Tuesday, Levis described it as being "nothing too serious" but that he'd defer to the team's medical staff as to decisions about whether he'd play Friday.

Second-year passer Malik Willis played all but two of the Titans' snaps in the Vikings game, but Titans coach Mike Vrabel has left the door open for veteran passer Ryan Tannehill to see a little bit of action Friday. Tannehill hasn't taken a snap in a preseason game since 2019, his first year with the Titans.

The Titans traded up to select Levis in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He competed with Willis for the backup job behind Tannehill through the first three weeks of training camp but Willis has taken a larger share of the second-team reps and was listed as the Titans' No. 2 quarterback on their initial preseason depth chart.

Friday's game between the Titans and Patriots is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. at Nissan Stadium.
