Tennessee Titans, long snapper Morgan Cox agree to contract before free agency begins

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a contract extension with long snapper Morgan Cox, the team announced Thursday.

Cox, who was set to become a free agent when the league year begins next week, rejoins the Titans for his fourth season with the franchise and his 15th in the NFL. A five-time Pro Bowler who most recently represented the AFC in 2022, he has been the team's long snapper on punts and field goals.

Cox, who played at Evangelical Christian School in Memphis and at the University of Tennessee, spent his first 11 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He turns 38 in April.

By agreeing to the extension, Cox avoids free agency. The Titans have an extensive list of soon-to-be free agents, including longtime cornerstones running back Derrick Henry, quarterback Ryan Tannehill and defensive lineman Denico Autry. The 2024 league year begins Wednesday, but teams may begin negotiating with pending free agents on Monday.
