Tennessee Tech women's basketball wins OVC tournament, advances to March Madness

Tennessee Tech women's basketball will play in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2000.

The Golden Eagles (22-9) won the Ohio Valley Conference tournament championship on Saturday with a 54-46 victory over Little Rock, the 10th tournament title in program history.

The Golden Eagles led the Trojans 11-8 at the end of the first quarter and 21-15 by halftime. Tennessee Tech extended its lead to as many as 12 in the second half before closing out the win.

Kiera Hill led the Golden Eagles with career highs of 14 points and 10 rebounds on 6-of-8 shooting. Jada Guinn added 12 points and six assists and was named tournament MVP for her performance.

Tennessee Tech was not projected to make the NCAA Tournament prior to Saturday's game, per ESPN's Charlie Creme.
