Tennessee basketball trolls Alabama with 'Dixieland Delight' (again) following latest win

Tennessee basketball notched a win over Alabama on Saturday, moving to 14-4 (4-1 SEC) on the year and handing the Crimson Tide (12-6, 4-1 SEC) their first conference loss of the season.

The Vols were powered by a 25-point game from Dalton Knecht to earn a 91-71 win over Alabama at Rocky Top, giving Tennessee a three-game winning streak and moving the Vols to 10-0 at home so far in the 2023-24 season.

Tennessee celebrated its win by playing "Dixieland Delight" in the aftermath, with the crowd in attendance mockingly belting the Alabama anthem.

It buttons up quite the week for "Dixieland Delight," which also came up from Michigan offensive lineman Trevor Keegan. Keegan said on the Big Ten Network Michigan fans helped the team "in the Rose Bowl when they played that 'Dixieland Delight' bulls—."

Tennessee fans have weaponized the song to great effect in recent victories over the Tide. Fans sang it and it blared over the public-address system as they stormed Neyland Stadium after beating Alabama 52-49 in football in 2022, drawing the ire of Alabama fans in the process.

Some four months later, Tennessee fans did it again when the Vols beat No. 1 Alabama in basketball in February 2023.

Fans are also happy to remind Alabama fans that the song, written by the band Alabama, is about Tennessee.

Move over Third Saturday in October. It's Third Saturday in January's time. No matter the sport, Tennessee fans will never get tired of messing with the Tide.
