Tennessee basketball ranked No. 11 overall in March Madness Bracket Preview Show on CBS
Tennessee basketball is the No. 11 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament, according to the March Madness Bracket Preview Show on CBS.
The Vols are a No. 3 seed.
“The Volunteers have big wins, quality wins, against Arizona and Kentucky," Tom Burnett, the Chair of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Selection Committee, said on the bracket preview show. “Strong strength of schedule came into factor as well.
"(They) didn’t quite get (above) Texas Tech because Tech has the head-to-head win against Tennessee.”
UT is in a pod with the south regional with Arizona as the No. 1 and Baylor as the No. 2. Tennessee beat Arizona 77-73 on Dec. 22.
The No. 13 Vols (19-6, 10-3 SEC) face No. 24 Arkansas (20-6, 9-4) on Saturday (4 p.m. ET, ESPN) in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The Vols have made the tournament in each of the past three seasons in which it was held. Selection Sunday for the 2022 NCAA Tournament is March 13.
