TE Zach Ertz expected to play for Cardinals vs. Chiefs

The Arizona Cardinals come into their Week 1 Sunday afternoon matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs with four players listed as questionable on the final injury report of the week. One is tight end Zach Ertz, who has been dealing with a calf injury for the last month.

Despite only getting limited practice reps on Wednesday and Friday and none on Thursday, Ertz is expected to play, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

He will play, barring any pregame setbacks when he warms up.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said that, even if Ertz could play, they would be smart about how much.

Ertz had 56 receptions for 574 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games for the Cardinals last season after he was acquired via trade from the Philadelphia Eagles.

With receiver DeAndre Hopkins suspended for the first six games of the year and Rondale Moore out with a hamstring injury, having Ertz available is big.

For those who have Ertz on their fantasy team, this is good news, although having a limited role might limit his production.
