Taylor Swift got us thinking, what famous fans have been in attendance for area H.S. games

You might have heard that The Most Famous Person Ever ... Yes, Ever ... Don't Argue, You Know It's True (Taylor Swift) showed up at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City recently to cheer on the Chiefs and new boyfriend (?????) Travis Kelce, whose replica jersey sales immediately shot up 400% because of course they did.

Not everyone has that sort of universe-shifting power. But it got us thinking about smaller, humbler celebrity appearances around here.

Like, say, at area high school sporting events.

So we asked around for Patriot Ledger/Enterprise schools' brushes with the slightly less famous.

Here's what we found:

HINGHAM

AD Jim Quatromoni says legendary Boston Globe sports columnist Bob Ryan has attended girls basketball games and was a big fan of 1,000-point scorer Grace Bennis, even giving her a shoutout on Around the Horn

He also notes that former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi once coached against the Hingham football team when the Harbormen played Bishop Feehan. Former Patriots tight end Christian Fauria was in attendance that night as his son played for Feehan.

Of course, Frank Spaziani, the Boston College head football coach from 2009-12, saw plenty of Harbormen games when his son Joe was a quarterback on the team.

HULL

From AD Connor Duhaime: "I will say that in June of 2021 we had (Patriots QB) Mac Jones and NoBull shoot a commercial on our field. It was in my first 2 weeks I was hired on the job!

"We also had Leonardo DiCaprio come to the dock and order breakfast across from the high school. The island across from the Gut was used in the opening scene of 'Shutter Island.'

"(Former Patriots linebacker) Andre Tippett was welcomed last year into the school to a standing ovation as he handed our Football Coach Mike O’Donnell the (New England Patriots') Coach of the Week award."

Patriots and Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett, left, poses with Hull High football coach Mike O'Donnell at the school on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022. O'Connell was named the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Week after his Pirates beat Cohasset, 24-10, on Thanksgiving to improve to 12-0. Hull will play KIPP Academy in the Div. 8 Super Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022 at Gillette Stadium.

RANDOLPH

AD Tony Price recalls former Boston Celtics player (and later executive) Danny Ainge attending a Blue Devils boys basketball tournament game in 2012 to watch his two sons, who played for Wellesley.

"A couple of years later," Price said, "(former NBA player) Jason Terry attended a girls basketball game to watch his daughter play (for Weston) against Randolph. The students made more of a big deal about him than Ainge. LOL. The older generation knew Ainge was in attendance."

ROCKLAND

Former Celtics player (and now TV announcer) Brian Scalabrine attended a Rockland girls basketball game last season to watch his daughter, who played for Dover-Sheborn. Scalabrine took a selfie with the Rockland fans.

Also, Rockland football coach Nick Liquori recalls seeing Paul Sullivan (from those Sullivan Tire TV commercials) at a Bulldogs game.
