And Thanksgiving in July. And Triassic Ballpark Night. And more.

Those are just a few of the offbeat observances on the 2023 calendar for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, after the Triple-A baseball club released its promotional schedule Wednesday for the new year at 121 Financial Ballpark.

As usual, the season is loaded with the wild and the wacky for the 2023 home slate, which begins April 4.

Here's a look at 10 of the most exciting or the just plain weirdest on the list for Northeast Florida's baseball fans in 2023.

April 21: Swedish Furniture Night

Fans race during the game to assemble what the Jumbo Shrimp describe as "flat packed Swedish furniture."

May 11: Salute to the Vacuum Hose Haircut

This cosmetically dubious promotion will include free vacuum-aided haircuts — the club appends two question marks to the description — during the game.

May 26: Classical Music Night

For fans who prefer Strauss to strikeouts, this night includes a live classical music soundtrack into the postgame fireworks show. What would Harry Caray say about this one?

June 10: That One Night in Dublin

After last year's London-themed night in Duval, the Jumbo Shrimp are transporting the theme across the Irish Sea with Irish food, drinks and music.

June 15: Let's Put the Fun in Funeral Night

Yep, it's real, and it includes activities like guessing how many baseballs can fit inside a coffin.

July 2: Kids PA Day

Is there a future Jim Nantz or Doris Burke in the house? Families can stop by the Kids PA table and sign up a child to introduce a batter live during the game.

July 27: Thanksgiving in July

The Jumbo Shrimp will be trading in hot dogs and burgers for Thanksgiving fare, including pumpkin pie, stuffing and cranberry sauce for the Thursday evening game against the Gwinnett Stripers.

Aug. 9: Twizzle Me This, Twizzle Me That

The licorice snacks take center stage, with fans testing out how they "bend, stretch, fly, twist and fit in your mouth."

Sept. 2: Phobias Night

From spiders to snakes to clowns, the Jumbo Shrimp enter Labor Day weekend with "all the things that give people the creeps."

Sept. 3: Triassic Ballpark Night

The ballpark hosts Ed's Dinosaurs Live, including celebrations of dinosaurs from the Triassic and Jurassic periods.
