SVC releases all-conference teams and awards for baseball and softball

CHILLICOTHE − The Scioto Valley Conference released its selections for its all-conference teams and awards in both baseball and softball on Wednesday.

Adena's Kiera Williams was chosen as the All-SVC Softball Player of the Year, while Unioto's Keegan Snyder was named the All-SVC Baseball Player of the Year. Williams posted a conference-leading .658 batting average and 47 runs scored, while also notching 43 RBIs, 11 doubles, five triples and 19 stolen bases. Snyder also posted a conference-high .600 batting average and 33 RBIs, all the while racking up 24 runs, eight doubles and a home run.

Huntington's Ed Yates and Unioto's Tony Taylor were named the baseball Co-Coaches of the Year. Under Taylor, the Shermans claimed the SVC title outright with 13-1 conference record and posted a 23-2 overall record. Yates led the Huntsmen to a 19-4 regular season record and to second place in the SVC.

Adena's Brad Jadwin was named the SVC Softball Coach of the Year. Jadwin guided the Warriors to their first outright SVC title since 2011, a 13-1 conference record and a 22-3 record ahead of the district tournament.
