SUNY Oneonta sweeps Potsdam in basketball; Delhi men fall to Cobleskill

Jan. 22—The SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team held off SUNY Potsdam for a 53-45 victory Saturday.

Amanda Zuntag led the Red Dragons with 12 points and eight rebounds while Jenna Harclerode had 11 points and seven rebounds, Molly Stephens scored 10 points and Emma Schwarzbeck finished with 10 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Oneonta (6-9 overall, 4-4 SUNYAC) will visit Oswego State Tuesday.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

SUNY Cobleskill 76, SUNY Delhi 67 (Saturday)

SUNY Delhi fell to SUNY Cobleskill 76-67 at home Saturday.

Marven Louissaint led the Broncos with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Elsewhere, Warren Davis and Lester McCarthy each scored 10 points.

Kobe Long scored a game-high 23 points for Cobleskill.

Delhi (10-6 overall, 4-2 NAC) will host SUNY Poly Tuesday.

The SUNY Oneonta men rolled to a 92-60 home win over SUNY Potsdam Saturday.

Elijah Castillo notched a double-double to lead the Red Dragons in the win, finishing with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Graham Wooden, meanwhile, scored 17 points while Xavier Hill had nine points and 12 rebounds, Ryan Teaney had nine points and Mohammed Sylla notched eight points, four rebounds and three assists.

Oneonta (7-9 overall, 4-4 SUNYAC) will be at No. 6 Oswego State Tuesday.

WRESTLING

The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team was in action at the New York State Collegiate Championships at Nassau Community College Saturday.

The Red Dragons finished second overall behind Ithaca as 12 wrestlers earned All-State honors.

Kennith Jackson (heavyweight) and Joel Zea (174 pounds) finished second in the Freshman/Sophomore Division while Carson LiCastri (197) was second in the Open Division.

Oneonta's other wrestlers who earned All-State status were Kenneth Sauer (174), Max Yahre (157), Nino Prisco (184), James DeLucia, Esdras Ramos (165), Danny Poggi (133), Billy Colloca (125), Phillip Venne (141) and Matt Coffey.

Oneonta will be at Wells College this Sunday for the John Reese Duals.
