The Chicago Bears (2-5) will face off against the Los Angeles Chargers (2-4) at SoFi Stadium in a Week 8 matchup with Bears rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent starting instead of Justin Fields, who is sidelined due to a dislocated thumb on his throwing hand.

Fields sustained the injury during the team's Week 6 defeat against the Minnesota Vikings and Bears head coach Matt Eberflus has designated Fields as "week-to-week" and was listed out for Week 8.

This will be Bagent’s second start as quarterback in the 2023 season after his impressive debut in the Bears' 30-12 win over the Raiders.

The Los Angeles Chargers are heading into Week 8 with limited injuries. The Chargers could be without starting tight end Gerald Everett, who was limited on practice with a hip injury and remains questionable against the Bears.

Chargers running back Austin Ekeler suffered an ankle injury early in the season in Week 1, and despite returning in Week 6, he is expected to be listed as questionable for Week 8 after reinjuring the same ankle.

Fantasy football Week 8: Bears fantasy updates, outlook

RB D’Onta Foreman: Foreman stepped in for injured Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert, rushed for 89 yards, and scored three touchdowns in the Bears’ 30-12 win against the Raiders in Week 7. Foreman is expected to start in Week 8 against the Chargers, though Johnson has practiced in full all three days this week and appears ready for a return.

RB Roschon Johnson: Johnson does not carry an injury designation into Sunday and could add the much needed offensive depth that the Bears need.

WR DJ Moore: Moore has remained a solid pick at wide receiver for fantasy football managers, catching 8 of 9 targets for 54 yards in Week 7.

Fantasy football Week 8: Chargers fantasy updates, outlook

QB Justin Herbert: Justin Herbert struggled in the Week 7, 31-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, completing 17 of 30 passing attempts for 259 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Herbert has been dealing with a finger injury, though he claims it is not hindering his performance.

WR Keenan Allen: Allen caught 4 of 9 targets for 55 yards in the Week 7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite his performance against the Chiefs, Allen is expected to be a WR1 pick among fantasy football managers.

TE Donald Parham Jr.: With Gerald Everett nursing an injury ahead of Week 8 against the Bears, Donald Parham Jr. could step into that TE1 spot. Parham Jr. didn’t have an impressive Week 7 game against the Chiefs, completing one of three targets for nine yards, but he wasn’t the only one on the Chargers offense struggling. If Everett sits, Parham Jr. would likely see increased usage against the Bears.
