Stewart earns another Footballer of the Week honor
WHITE PIGEON — Taylor Stewart and the White Pigeon Chiefs will take on Saugatuck tonight in the district finals.
The Chiefs beat rival Centreville in last week's playoff opener, 40-12. In that game, Stewart ran for 21 carries with 190 yards and four touchdowns for the Chiefs.
Stewart garnered 64.53 percent of the total votes cast for Footballer of the Week. He beat Bennett VandenBerg of Constantine, who posted an almost identical game of 21 carries with 192 yards and four touchdowns in that one. Bennett earned 35.05 percent of the total votes cast.
Chili cook-off helps raise funds for bookmobile
Following last Friday's win over the Bulldogs, Stewart said he was proud of his team.
"We played hard tonight, it's amazing running behind that offensive line," Stewart said. "There were some really big holes and that makes my job easy."
