Stefon Diggs did not report to Bills mandatory minicamp

The Buffalo Bills are without Stefon Diggs as their 2023 mandatory minicamp begins.

The Bills opened the three-day event on Tuesday. During his opening press conference from minicamp, head coach Sean McDermott indicated that Diggs is not present.

The coach said that he was “very concerned” by the update.

Diggs will be subject to a fine for not appearing.

In 2022, Diggs was named an All-Pro for the second time in his Bills career. Despite that, before Buffalo’s campaign ended last season, there had been indications that Diggs was potentially unhappy.

The Bills lost to the Cincinnati Bengals, 27-10, in last year’s postseason. Diggs was spotted yelling at teammates on the sideline during the game. He left the stadium abruptly following the loss.

Since then, the 29-year-old has made cryptic comments throughout the offseason on social media and during interviews. During a discussion on “The Shop,” Diggs said he’s still searching for answers as to why Buffalo had not yet cracked the Super Bowl since his arrive prior to the 2020 season. The Bills traded a first-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for Diggs.

“It doesn’t make sense. Like I will rack my brain with this s— at this point,” Diggs said.

Diggs did not show up to any of the team’s voluntary workouts this offseason. In year’s past, Diggs had sporadically missed such workouts but did show up during minicamp and eventually training camp.

The spotlight on Diggs just went from dim to bright.

It’s not fully clear why the wideout is not with his team in Orchard Park as he has yet to speak on the manner.
