Steelers running back Benny Snell honors Winton Woods grad Chris Oats on his cleats

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Benny Snell honored his teammate from the University of Kentucky, Chris Oats, against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Snell had custom cleats that represented the 22 Oats Strong Foundation as part of the NFL's "My Cause My Cleats" program. The program allows play to "have the opportunity to pick a cause that is important to them and represent their chosen organization on custom designed cleats."

Snell, a backup running back for the Steelers, carried the ball six times for 24 yards and caught a pass for 11 yards in Pittsburgh's 19-16 win.

Oats, a former Winton Woods High School star, played at UK with Snell. A stroke in 2020 ended Oats' football career, but fans and teammates have followed his recovery and donated nearly $200,000 to his GoFundMe as he continues to show improvement.

22 Oats Strong was set up to help assist and support families of young stroke victims.
