Steelers offensive line climbs in PFF rankings

A point of emphasis for the Pittsburgh Steelers for a second straight offseason has been the offensive line. Last season the team went out and got a new center and right guard and this offseason has completely rebuilt the left side of the line.

Pro Football Focus seems to be impressed with the addition of guard Isaac Seumalo and tackle Broderick Jones. In their latest updated offensive line rankings, the Steelers are up four spots to land at No. 12.

As PFF notes, pass protection wasn’t the issue last season. The Steelers offensive line was seventh in the NFL in protecting the quarterback. But as a run-blocking group, they were only 16th and needed to upgrade. The Steelers have a very talented tandem of running backs in Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren. Some help by the offensive line could really add punch to the run game and make life easier on the Kenny Pickett and the passing offense.
