Steelers LB T.J. Watt named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

In Sunday’s dramatic overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt took it upon himself to carry Pittsburgh to a position to win the game. Watt finished the game with seven tackles, two sacks, three passes defended and a forced fumble.

This effort has earned him the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Watt got two sacks in overtime on Sunday including the late strip-sack of Seattle quarterback Geno Smith that sealed the win for Pittsburgh. Watt was continuously double and triple teams during the game but never game up. On that final strip sack, Seattle committed five guys to his side of the field and it didn’t stop him.

On the season, Watt has seven sacks, three forced fumbles and seven tackles for loss and 12 quarterback hits. Watt is once again making a strong push for Defensive Player of the Year.
