These stars ran to glory: South Shore high school girls cross country All-Scholastics
Oliver Ames High has had some strong girls cross country teams over the years, but this one stands alone.
Sparked by a runner-up finish from star senior Katie Sobieraj, the Tigers claimed their first-ever Division 1 state team crown this season. OA was first with 88 points, comfortably clear of second-place Arlington (172). Said coach Kyle Sousa: "I would consider it the best performance we've had in OA girls cross country history."
To no one's surprise, OA is well represented on The Patriot Ledger/Enterprise All-Scholastic Team, with Sobieraj joined on the First Team by Iole Apostoli, Hannah Dupill, Braelyn Graham and Annie Reilly. Ashley Powers is a Second Teamer, and Hailey Goldman gets an Honorable Mention nod.
Weymouth, which finished fifth in team scoring at Div. 1 states, also features prominently on our team. Gracie Richard, Isabella Galusha and Kate Carnes are First Teamers, Leah Glavin is on the Second Team, and Natalie McInnis is an Honorable Mention.
Let's meet the 2023 Patriot Ledger/Enterprise All-Scholastics.
